  • Monthly contributions are assumed to be made consistently.

Starting with 5,000, adding 300 per month, and assuming a 5% annual return for 10 years produces an estimated future value of about 54,000. The result changes quickly if the return or contribution schedule changes.

Why time matters

The same monthly contribution has more time to compound when you start earlier. In long timelines, growth can become a larger share of the final balance than the original principal.
